PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide nutritious, tasty meals to students and staff in a pleasant atmosphere. 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Use standardized recipes; measure and mix ingredients according to recipe while using a variety of kitchen
  1. Assist in the preparation of food according to guidelines, menu, and number of persons to be served.
  1. Operate food service equipment correctly, safely, and
  1. Follow Production Records to portion food on serving trays or dishes from counters and steam table to students, staff and
  1. Provide good customer service while serving, smile, make eye contact and engage with customers.
  1. Assist in keeping adequate food on serving
  1. Assist in counting leftovers for recording on Production Records. Put away leftovers promptly. Cool and store them
  1. Sort and wash dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and
  1. Follow sanitation guidelines during preparation, serving and clean-up.
  1. Assist in keeping areas and floors clean of spilled foods and other hazardou
  1. Assist in cleaning kitchens, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning garbage cans, and cleaning stationary
  1. Assist in cleaning steam tables and dining
  1. Assist in record-keeping for his/her assigne 
  1. Check food supplies for weekly
  1. Dress and takes part on special occasions
  1. Exemplify high standards of ethical
  1. Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job
  1. Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer
  1. Use professional information discreetly and
  1. Support and follow administrative and board
  1. Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional 
  1. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward parents and pupils to insure
  1. Perform other duties as

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress.

Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 lbs.); some stooping, bending and kneeling.

Moderate exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures.

 

Terms of Employment:

Work year established by the Board; salary according to current schedule.

 

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
